Our procedural instructions for the Thuringian emergency services are intended to help with the practical implementation of the emergency paramedic law in Thuringia in order to enable a nationwide, uniform implementation of the individual measures and care strategies.
With our free app, we, as the medical committees involved in the Thuringian emergency medical and rescue service, would like to provide a framework for action to the Thuringian emergency medical services schools, the medical directors of the emergency services, and in particular to the emergency paramedics who are or are already actively working in the Free State of Thuringia.
This should also be seen as a recommendation for action for emergency doctors, although medical colleagues are free to take further measures in diagnostics and therapy.
The instructions are designed in different colors - following the legal requirements - according to the respective competences to act, i.e.
emergency competence or measures after delegation (see also NotSanG 4 para.
2 points 1c and 2a-c), which are basically regulated in our guidance algorithm.
The Thuringian procedural instructions (VFA) for the emergency services have been updated in order to meet the changed requirements in everyday life in emergency services and the job description of the emergency paramedic.
We focused on the development of basic guidance and basic algorithms that are in line with the nationwide pyramid process and current medical guidelines.
This streamlined the procedural instructions and simplified their application.
The emergency doctor requirement is now stipulated in the control algorithms, which improves the link between algorithms and procedural instructions.
The emergency doctor indication catalog remains valid and is taken into account in the guiding algorithm for additional emergency doctor requests (L5).
A new procedural instruction Tele-emergency doctor consultation (L6) was introduced to regulate tele-emergency medical support.
All procedural instructions have been revised to improve guideline conformity and practical applicability.
The updated instructions ensure high-quality emergency care in Thuringia.
The documentation of medical measures by emergency paramedics has been simplified and enables legally compliant documentation.
